Excerpt: Warmachine: High Command was one of my most anticipated games released at Gen Con this year. It boasted several mechanisms that are usually an easy fit for me: Ascension-like Deckbuilding/Drafting, Blood Bowl Team Manager-like area control, and the ability to customize your faction decks in between game sessions for asymmetrical Deckbuilding options during the game.
It’s probably the least exciting combat I’ve seen in a game. You don’t ever feel like your army is in a fight… at all. You are just adding up values and comparing them. That’s it!by
